Hidee ho

Why yes people -  am alive and well. More than well but SUPERBLY busy. I have a new job, working as the “Product Evangelist” for a great little company called DecalGirl. Basically I’m doing PR and writing and Twittering and all that good stuff. I have been going full force and putting all my energy into my new role. And I am very happy professionally speaking. With all that in mind – I haven’t had much photog time GASSSSSP! Yes I know. I am sorely disappointed in myself. Perhaps this will tide you over – here is my new logo. My thanks to David Macomber Jr. (a photographer himself) for taking my thoughts and translating them PERFECTLY into this very art nouveau-ish image. Just what this doctor ordered! (I’m not a doctor by the way – close but not close enough! HA!). Peace all. I’ve missed this and hope you have too!

Get your photog on!

Dig original art? Think it’s beyond your budget? If you’re local (or even if you’re not), come check out the work of some great photogs and pick up something original just in time for the holidays peeps! I will be showing some work too. The whole thing is going to be awesome. And if you’re not local, check out the pics on the Facebook page of Paisley Moon in Milton, Delaware. Pretty rad work!

Birds & Bugs

I don’t consider myself much of a “wildlife” photographer. There are those who dedicate themselves to this subject and do so with grace and style. I find that when I capture “wildlife” it is because there was something interesting or odd about the scene or moment. So these are a few of my Birds & Bugs.

Oh and by the way – my portfolio site is up and running:  http://www.cmthirteen.com

I haven’t incorporated the sales feature yet because well I want to be able to sign my pieces for those who buy them. Sooo if you’re interested in getting one email me directly: DURSTCM@GMAIL.COM

A Variety

Well I haven’t uploaded many photos lately. With the kids back to school and me, well me never mind, I have been running around. Sometimes I wonder… yea yea! Back to the topic at hand – here is a variety of photos I have finally had time to look at a bit and post.

Oh – anyone familiar with “see.me” as a portfolio host site? I know smugmug, zenfolio, and such but see.me is new and I thought I may give ‘em a go…

Where the Boys Are

Paul and I hit Herring Point the other day – where the boys were surfing our big waves, well big for Delaware. The surf was awesome! Thankfully Paul was there to help me: between one useful arm, my camera, and the slippery stones Paul’s hand was welcome in mine even more than usual. Well here are the shots… just a little bit of post processing. I like that old school feeling to these images. The guys had fun and I had fun taking these. Really makes me want to get back in the water. Not sure if I’ll surf again with this shoulder biz but I’d be happy to don a suit and a waterproof housing and shoot… ENJOY! Peace people

Big Waves

With the storms brewing and churning up the waters, there are pretty big waves off the East Coast. So the one armed bandit was at it, snapping photos wishing I could get in the water with the surfers. Think I might rent a delmar or ikelite housing and jump in the water one of these days (which given the state of my shoulder means next summer!). Off and running so I will post a few pictures tonight…
